憲法の行先
Constitution: whither goest thou?

内田

The continuing deterioration of political culture
“The world is in a period of earth-shattering change.
The form of rule known as the Nation State is approaching the end of its use-by-date.
The prime factor in this is the progression of Global Capitalism.
As capital, goods, information and people come and go across borders at high speed,
the framework of the nation state is being dismantled.”

“....I think the world will divide into a number of regional, supranational communities,
in other words: “empires” - political & cultural regions.”

“Japanese people’s thinking has become “corporatized”.”

“The average Japanese person has never had any practice in democratic consensus building. Whether in the home, the school, club activities, part-time work or full-time employment; none are run democratically.
They are all 'top-down' organizations.”

" ...politics is being corporatized too."

“Elections today act like the market.
No matter what kind of useless “junk” policy (is presented)
if the market picks it up, then it’s judged as "good".
The election result is all that counts.
So, checking policies prior to the election or assessments post-election
or pursuit of accountability for any mistakes all become superfluous.
This results in the degrading of political culture.”
